Boost Your Home’s Curb Appeal With Pressure Washing

Are you considering placing your home on the market? Did you know that cleaning the surface of your home’s facade can instantly boost the value of your home? Since real estate agents and buyers are attracted to homes with great ‘curb appeal,’ the surface of your home may be a major factor in it’s price tag. Curb Appeal Curb appeal refers to the first impression an onlooker gets when looking at your home. It’s the appeal of the home from the curb of the road. If that onlooker is a potential buyer, it’ll be important to ensure that your home is looking pristine. A clean home with a clean building envelope will simply look more valuable than a dirty, grimy, dusty home. Plus, renewing the exterior of your home makes it look newer. With a good power wash from the pros here at Big Clean, you can expect a bigger price tag on your home. In fact, pressure cleaning your home is likely the most affordable way to boost the price tag of your home; and it only takes a few hours! While you’ll have to shell out

Prepping For Paint

Your paint is chipping off your home’s wooden siding. Your home looks withered, weathered, and beaten down. It’s time to paint. You dream of new hues, your home is a blank canvas. With a tabula rasa, a blank slate, you saunter to the nearest hardware store or paint shop for the best colors to suit your abode. It’s exciting, butterflies bubble up in your belly as you ponder the possibilities. Maybe you’ll go with maroon siding, and white trim: Classic. Or perhaps you’re thinking of deep dark eggplant purple alongside a lively green trim: Modern. Finally you decide on the perfect colors for your home… a rusted, cloudy seafoam for the siding, gray edging, and bright bold brown-mustard yellow for the door. Now, there’s prep work to be done. It’s time to peel away chipped paint, sand down imperfections, power wash your surfaces, dry, and paint. Peeling Paint With walls of paint peeling away, you’ll want to pick up some scrapers. Scrape away loose paint, paint bubbles, and any other imperfections off of your wooden siding. You don’t have to make your wall perfectly smooth yet, the next step

Do It Yourself Exterior Painting

You’ve peeled away old paint, you’ve sanded your surfaces, we’ve pressure washed away debris. Your home’s wooden exterior is ready for a fresh coat of paint. In our last blog, we covered the first steps you’ll need to take to prepare your surface for paint, as well as the tools and materials you’ll need to get the job done. Today, we’ll be talking about the process you should follow to make exterior painting a snap. Plan Ahead Once your surfaces are dry after pressure washing, you’ll want to paint on a day that’s sunny. Shoot for a day that has no chance of rain. Each coat will need to be applied to a dry surface or your freshly applied paint may bubble and crack. If it rains as you’re tackling your home-painting project, you’ll have to wait until the surface is dry once again to continue. Taping Off Surfaces & Drop Cloths Tape off edging, windows, and corners where your paint colors will be different. If you’re painting your edging after you’ve painted the majority of your exterior surface, you can be a bit messier. Paint these surfaces

Tips for Keeping Your Home Clean

We’re here to ensure that your exterior surfaces are sparkling. That’s why we provide pressure washing services. Pressure washing is simply the most effective, most efficient way to clean your deck, your patio, your driveway, and the facade of your home. But at the end of the day, our services don’t extend to the interior of your home. However, we’re going to take a moment today to provide some tips to keep your interior spaces as clean as your Big-Clean-power-washed exteriors (we’ll be continuing this blog stream in upcoming articles, by the way, so check back for more tips!). Your Garage Your garage is the junk drawer of your home. And it’s the place you store dirty tools, dirty cars, and dirt for your garden. When it gets too much to bear, it’s time to set aside the afternoon (or the weekend) aside to clean up. Cutting Clutter You have 13 projects sitting stagnant on your workbench. You have six power tools that don’t work. You have two power tools that do. Your floor is more sawdust than concrete. You’ve parked your car on the corner of your driveway

Keep Your Pool Area Safe

Sure, they can seep into the pool water and turn your emerald-colored oasis into a green stew, and that’s bad enough. And sure, they can clog a pool filter in a jiff. But what’s worse is that a bit of mold and grime can become as slippery as a grease spill. And with tots and tykes running full sprint around your pool, the tiniest bit of mold becomes a major liability. Oh, and beyond that, mildew around your pool just doesn’t look good. Pressure Washing Your Pool-Area Concrete for Safety It’s a joyous Saturday. The sun is shining. The birds are chirping. Bees are buzzing near the crabapple tree. A soft wind rolls in from the northwest at four miles per hour - or perhaps it’s four-and-a-half miles per hour. There isn’t a cloud in this galaxy (or even the Andromeda galaxy for that matter). There’s charcoal smoldering on the grill. Ribs have been marinating in the kitchen refrigerator for 72 hours. Children frolic through the green grass as you check the pH balance in your pool. It’s perfect. You shout to the jubilant youth that surrounds you and
